This is a collection of works by Philippe Weisbecker, a French artist who depicts everyday objects and buildings using a unique drawing method sometimes called reverse perspective.
Weisbecker stayed in Kyoto for four months in 2002, where he was fascinated by the tools of Japanese craftsmen and meticulously sketched them in a deadstock notebook.
This book is a complete reproduction of that notebook, both in size and content.
It's a warm and inviting book, like a handwritten encyclopedia, with not only the tools themselves but also their Japanese names carefully written down.
It offers an interesting experience, allowing you to hold the notebook in your hands and appreciate the illustrations just like the artist did.
